Description
Located in the Cidade Baixa neighborhood (Rua João Alfredo, 582), part of the archaeological collection was affected by the flood. The water level on the first floor reached 90 centimetres, affecting part of the collection of around 300,000 archaeological fragments dating back to the history of indigenous occupation before Portuguese colonization, such as crockery, ceramics, glass, metal, leather and stone. The material can be recovered, but volunteers are needed. There is still no date for the reopening of the space that holds the memory of Porto Alegre, such as 12,000 photos and 1,500 objects from the collection. Estimated investment value for construction R$ 159.650,00.
